Vermont beats Siena 84-76

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Ethan O'Day scored 20 points and Trae Bell-Haynes added 16 Monday night and Vermont came from behind to beat Siena 84-76.

Hector Harold scored 11 points, Kurt Steidl had 12, including three 3-pointers, and the Catamounts (1-1) outshot the Saints 68.4 percent to 40.9 from the floor.

Rob Poole led the Saints (1-1) with 22 points and had five steals. Evan Hymes added 15 points, and Ryan Oliver 11.

Vermont jumped to a 12-4 lead but Siena, led by Hymes with 12 points in the half, came back and the lead traded hands several times until Rob Poole hit two free throws for a 37-36 Saints halftime lead.

Siena pulled ahead on a 6-1 run in the second half, but Ethan O'Day put Vermont up 60-59 with two free throws at 9:23. Poole made it 72-71 with two free throws at 3:01, but Bell-Hayes hit a layup, sparking a 6-0 Vermont run.
