Bowling Green pulls away from Wright State 70-55

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) Zack Denny made four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points to lead Bowling Green to a 70-55 win over Wright State on Wednesday.

Spencer Parker added 14 points and six rebounds for Bowling Green (2-0). Richaun Holmes had nine points, eight rebounds and five blocks. The Falcons made 42.6 percent of their 54 shots, including 5 of 11 3-pointers.

Wright State (2-1) was paced by Chrishawn Hopkins with 13 points. Joe Thomasson scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds. The Raiders made 17 of 52 shots (32.7 percent).

Denny scored the final seven Bowling Green points of the first half to pull within 28-27.

The lead changed hands five times in the first 5 minutes of the second half. Michael Karena's basket pulled Wright State within 49-46 with 10:10 remaining. That's the last field goal Wright State would make, going 9 of 10 from the free throw line the rest of the way.
