Injured Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller plans to return next season, according to Albert Breer of the NFL Network

Miller will not play this season after he tore the labrum in his right shoulder during practice on Aug. 18. Freshman J.T. Barrett has started at quarterback for the Buckeyes this season, but head coach Urban Meyer said the job will be Miller's once he returns.

Miller, a senior, has one year of eligibility remaining. If Miller earns his degree, he would be free to transfer and play immediately if he chooses. According to the Buckeyes' website, he is on track to graduate with a degree in communications this spring. He could also opt to declare for the NFL draft.

Miller was named the Big Ten's Offensive Player of the Year last season. He was named the conference's quarterback of the year in each of the past two seasons and was named freshman of the year in 2011.
