Five-star 2016 forward T.J. Leaf announced Wednesday that he has committed to Arizona

Leaf, a 6-foot-9, 220 pounder from El Cajon, California, is ranked as the No. 17 player in his class by Rivals.com.

The junior chose the Wildcats over offers from Duke, Florida, Louisville, Texas, Wisconsin and others.

Leaf told ESPN Arizona recruited him harder than anyone else in the country. He visited campus last month for the Wildcats' Red-Blue game and said the atmosphere was "out of control."

"It was a lot of reasons," Leaf said. "For one, I have a great relationship with all the coaches there, including coach [Sean] Miller. That's a big a plus. Their style of play, how they use their fours, interchangeable with their threes. That's what I want. And I have the opportunity to come in and make an impact as a freshman."

Leaf is the first commitment to Miller from the Class of 2016. Arizona's 2015 class is ranked No. 1 on Rivals.com, and includes five-stars Allonzo Trier, Ray Smith and Justin Simon and four-star Chance Comanche.
