NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma has found its identity with a bruising running game.

With quarterback Trevor Knight and star wide receiver Sterling Shepard nursing injuries, the 23rd-ranked Sooners have turned to an offense heavy on power football and option plays.

Three weeks ago, Oklahoma (7-3, 4-3 Big 12) ran for 510 yards in a 59-14 win over Iowa State, the most yards rushing for the Sooners since Bob Stoops became the head coach in 1999. Two weeks later, the Sooners gained most of their 393 yards rushing in the second half of a 42-30 win over Texas Tech.

Next up is Kansas (3-7, 1-6), which ranks in the bottom half of the Big 12 in rushing defense, but is confident after a 34-30 loss to then-No. 5 TCU last week.
