East Carolina wide receiver Justin Hardy set the FBS career receptions record Saturday vs. Tulane.

With an eight-yard catch in the second quarter, Hardy recorded his 350th career reception, breaking the record previously held by Oklahoma's Ryan Broyles. Now with the NFL's Detroit Lions, Broyles caught 349 passes at Oklahoma from 2008-11.

Entering Saturday, Hardy had 80 receptions for 1,002 yards and seven touchdowns this season for the 6-3 Pirates. Those 1,002 receiving yards rank 13th in the country, while his 80 receptions rank eighth.

Counting Saturday's game vs. Tulane, Hardy has played in 46 games. Broyles set the record in 48 career games with the Sooners.

East Carolina has two more games remaining this season, plus whichever bowl game it makes.

Hardy's record is the second to be set on Saturday. Oklahoma running back Samaje Perine broke the single-game FBS rushing record with his 427 yards vs. Kansas, breaking the mark set last week by Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon's 408 yards.
