UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) Shane Richards scored a career-high 24 points and dished out five assists to lead Manhattan to a 78-63 win over Binghamton in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday.

Manhattan (1-2) pulled away with a 13-3 burst midway through the first half that included 3-pointers from Richards and Rich Williams to make it 24-13 with 9:56 to go, carrying a 43-27 advantage into the break. The gap never fell below double figures in the second half.

Richards shot 8 of 16 from the floor, including 4 of 12 from long range. Ashton Pankey and Williams added 11 apiece in the win, which averted what would have been the Jaspers' first three-game skid since the 2012-13 season.

Willie Rodriguez led Binghamton (1-3) with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Justin McFadden and Marlon Beck II added 10 each.
