Morehead State pulls away from Presbyterian, 69-49

RUSTON, La. (AP) Brent Arrington and Angelo Warner scored 18 points apiece and Morehead State hit seven second-half 3-pointers to pull away for a 69-49 win over Presbyterian in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Saturday night.

Arrington and Warner combined to make 13 of 17 field goals, including 6 of 9 from 3-point range, while the rest of the Morehead State team shot 25.6 percent (11 of 47) from the floor and 23.5 percent (4 of 17) from behind the arc.

Karam Mashour added 10 points for Morehead State (2-2), which turned 23 Blue Hose turnovers into 22 points.

Jordan Downing led Presbyterian (1-3) with 13 points and 10 rebounds, but made just 4 of 15 field goals and committed six turnovers.

The Eagles led 29-24 at halftime, opened the second half with a 15-4 run before and extended their lead to as many as 25.
