San Diego hands W. Michigan its first loss, 77-70

SAN DIEGO (AP) Johnny Dee scored 21 points and drilled three 3-pointers in the final 10 minutes, leading four players into double figures and San Diego to a 77-70 win over Western Michigan Monday night.

The teams were tied at 56-56 with under 10 minutes to play when the Toreros began to slowly pull away, beginning with a 3-pointer by Dee. Another Dee 3 two minutes later made it a nine-point San Diego lead with 7:08 left.

Dee was 7 of 13 from the field and 4 of 9 from behind the arc before fouling out in the final minute of play. Thomas Jacobs pulled down 11 rebounds and Chris Anderson dished off 12 assists for San Diego (3-1)

The loss was the first in four games for Western Michigan. David Brown led the Broncos with 20 points, with Tucker Haymond and Austin Richie each contributing 16 points.
