St. Bonaventure beats Jackson State 79-71

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) Jaylen Adams tossed in 19 points and led four players in double-figure scoring as St. Bonaventure held off Jackson State 79-71 on Tuesday night.

St. Bonaventure put the game away from the free throw line, where the Bonnies were a collective 31 of 43. Jackson State was 18 of 20.

Jackson State kept the game close, out-scoring the Bonnies in the paint 28-22 and in points off the bench 17-12. The Tigers also had an edge in fast-break points (6-0).

Dion Wright 7 of 9 from the line and added 15 points for the Bonnies (3-1). Marcus Posley added 14 points and Andell Cumberbatch contributed 12.

St. Bonaventure was 12 of 24 from the field (50 percent) from the field in the first half.

Treshawn Bolden and Javeres Brent each scored 16 points to share high scoring honors for Jackson State (1-4).
