Bowling Green gets past SE Missouri State 62-54

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) Jovan Austin hit a jump shot and made two free throws with 39 seconds left to secure a 62-54 victory over Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday night.

Nino Johnson hit a jumper to pull the Redhawks within two, 54-52 with 1:53 left. Austin's four-point surge stretched the lead to 58-52. Zack Denny and Spencer Parker added two late free throws.

Bowling Green is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since opening the 1999-2000 season with three straight wins.

Richaun Holmes led Bowling Green with 14 points, Parker had 10 and Denny added nine.

Bowling Green made 23 of 57 attempts (40.4%) from the floor but only hit 2 of 13 from beyond the arc. The Redhawks were 19 of 46 overall.

Jarekious Bradley, who nailed 4 of 8 from long range, had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Redhawks (2-3).
