Kentucky and UCLA are close to finalizing a home-and-home series.

Kentucky and UCLA are close to finalizing a home-and-home series, according to Andy Katz of ESPN.

Bruins coach Steve Alford said that the home-and-home would begin in 2015 with a game in Westwood, Calif. The Wildcats would then play host in 2016 at Rupp Arena.

Kentucky and UCLA will play Dec. 20 in Chicago for the CBS Sports Classic. North Carolina and Ohio State will also compete in the first-year tournament at the United Center.

Alford has continued to advocate for a tough non-conference schedule for the Bruins. In addition to Kentucky, UCLA will play UNC and Gonzaga this season. No. 22 UCLA also lost to unranked Oklahoma at the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas on Wednesday.

Next season, UCLA will again play Gonzaga and UNC. It'll also compete in the 2015 Maui Invitational along with Kansas, Indiana, St. John's, UNLV, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Chaminade.

No. 1 Kentucky defeated Kansas (then ranked No. 5) this season and also plays Texas, UNC and Louisville in non-conference play, in addition to UCLA. Next season, the Wildcats fill face Duke, Ohio State, Louisville and South Florida.

Kentucky is 6-0 on the season and begins SEC play Jan. 6 vs. Ole Miss. UCLA is 4-1 and begins Pac-12 play Jan. 2 vs. Colorado.
