Dabney, Tulane beat SE Louisiana 71-61

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Louis Dabney scored 19 points and Tulane held Southeastern Louisiana at bay in the second half for a 71-61 win on Friday night.

Tulane (4-1) used a 9-2 run to go up 56-45 midway through the second half and SE Louisiana (1-5) never got within eight points from there.

Dabney scored 18 of his points in the first half to help the Green Wave build a 43-37 halftime lead. His 3-pointer with 12:08 left in the first half gave Tulane the lead for good at 22-20.

Dabney was 3 of 5 from 3-point range and Jay Hook was 3 of 7 with 16 points. Jonathan Stark added 12 points.

Zay Jackson also had 18 first-half points and finished with 22 points, six assists and four 3-pointers for the Lions. Joshua Filmore added 13 points, five rebounds and four assists.
