Western Illinois outguns D-III Greenville 91-56

MACOMB, Ill. (AP) Garret Covington scored 22 points and Tate Stensgaard and Jamie Batish added 12 each as Western Illinois beat Division III Greenville 91-56 on Saturday night.

Covington went 8 of 14 from the field with four 3-pointers - one of which sparked a breakaway rally after halftime when the Leathernecks (2-3) outscored the Panthers 24-6 over a span of a little more than 12 minutes.

Jabari Sandifer racked up a career-high 13 assists to go with nine points. Western Illinois led from start to finish and dropped 10 3-pointers, Batish and Covington combining for seven.

Tim Daniel led Greenville (2-3) with 12 points but was 5 of 12 from the field. The Panthers shot 34.4 percent for the game - making just 8 of 30 (26 percent) after halftime. Greenville made 4 of 17 3-pointers, Daniel with a pair.
