Derrick Wilson added 11 points for Marquette (4-3).

''We're a much better team today than we were when we left Milwaukee,'' Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski said. ''What I'm most proud of is the fight of our guys. I don't know if we were the hardest-playing team down here, but I know no one played harder than us.''

''They were tougher and more physical than us,'' Tennessee coach Donnie Tyndall said.

After Tennessee got within one, Duane Wilson made consecutive 3-pointers to put Marquette up 50-43 with 9 minutes to play. Derrick Wilson's short jumper made it 57-47 with 4:20 left.

Duane Wilson had 10 points as Marquette rallied from an 11-point deficit to take a 35-30 halftime advantage.

''He's just growing by leaps and bounds,'' Wojciechowski said.
