LOS ANGELES (AP) Mamadou Ndiaye scored a career-high 21 points, on 10-of-11 shooting, and Will Davis II scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help UC Irvine beat Loyola Marymount 80-72 on Saturday night.

Matt Hayes capped 8-2 Loyola Marymount run with a 3-pointer, pulling the Lions (3-3) to 61-58 with 8:41 left, but they would get no closer.

Jumpers by Evan Payne and Hayes made it 72-65 with 2:14 left, but Souza hit a 3 to put it out of reach.
