Georgia Southern beats Louisiana-Monroe, 22-16

STATESBORO, Georgia (AP) Matt Breida and Alfred Ramsby each ran for touchdowns in the fourth quarter as Georgia Southern posted a come-from-behind, 22-16 win over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday night.

Georgia Southern (9-3), in its first year as an FBS school, captured the Sun Belt Conference title with an undefeated, 8-0 conference record.

Pete Thomas threw a pair of touchdown passes, including a 36-yard strike to Ajalen Holley with 2:40 left in the third quarter, to give the Warhawks a 13-9 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Breida punched in from the 1, capping a 60-yard, 11-play drive on the Eagles' first possession of the fourth quarter to give Georgia Southern the lead, 15-13.

The Eagles forced Louisiana-Monroe (4-8, 3-5) to punt from its own 6 and needed just three plays to pad their lead. Ezayi Youyoute set up Ramsby's touchdown with a 48-yard run to give Georgia Southern first down at the Warhawks' 7.
