Louisiana Tech gets past Northwestern State 99-88

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) Alex Hamilton scored 30 points to lead Louisiana Tech to a 99-88 victory over Northwestern State on Tuesday night.

Hamilton, who hit 8 of 17 from the floor and made 11 of 16 free throw attempts, was one point shy of his career high. Raheem Appleby added 18 points and Michale Kyser had 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for Louisiana Tech (6-1).

The Bulldogs led 49-42 at the half pushed that to 70-61 with 12:08 remaining in the game. Jalan West nailed a 3-point jumper to bring the Demons to 79-76 with 7:01 left. The Bulldogs answered with an 11-5 run to lead 90-81 with 2:59 remaining.

Louisiana Tech scored 44 points in the paint while limiting Northwestern State (3-4) to 28 inside.

West led the Demons with 28 points, Zeek Woodley had 27 and Marvin Frazier chipped in 10.
