Harvard turns back Northeastern 60-46

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) Wesley Saunders scored 12 points and Siyani Chambers had 11 as Harvard pulled way for a 60-46 win over Northeastern on Wednesday night.

The Crimson (5-1) shot 52.2 percent from the field (24 of 46) and limited Northeastern to 33 percent (17 of 51). Scott Eatherton led the Huskies with 16 points.

Harvard jumped out to a 10-0 lead, scoring on five-straight possessions. Agunwa Okolie and Kenyatta Smith had two baskets apiece while Northeastern missed its first five shots.

With Eatherton scoring nine points, the Huskies clawed back within 27-22 at halftime and quickly cut the deficit to two on a T.J. Williams 3-pointer. Harvard soon put together three baskets and Northeastern never got closer than six the rest of the way.

The Huskies only made 2 of 10 3's and were 10 of 17 from the foul line, which negated a 35-24 rebounding advantage, including 15-3 on the offensive end.
