T25-ACC Championship Preview Capsule

No. 12 Georgia Tech (10-2, 6-2 ACC, No. 11 CFP) vs. No. 2 Florida State (12-0, 8-0 ACC, No. 4 CFP) at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, 8:14 p.m. ET (ABC)

Line: Florida State by 4

Series Record: Florida State leads 13-9-1

WHAT'S AT STAKE

With a win, Florida State will push its winning streak to 29 straight games and can clinch a spot in the first ever College Football Playoff. It would also be the Seminoles' third straight ACC Championship win, including their second over Georgia Tech. A loss means the Seminoles likely won't get a chance to defend their national championship. Georgia Tech will be making its fourth appearance in the ACC title game. The Yellow Jackets' only win came against Clemson in 2009 in Tampa, but that victory was later vacated due to NCAA sanctions.

KEY MATCHUP

Georgia Tech B-Backs Zach Laskey and Synjyn Days vs. Florida State front seven: The two backs combined for 234 yards on 42 carries in a win over then-No. 9 Georgia last week. The Yellow Jackets are averaging 333.8 yards per game on the ground. The Seminoles defense is allowing 145.8 yards rushing per game, so something has to give.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Georgia Tech: QB Justin Thomas needs 139 yards to become the second Georgia Tech quarterback to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Joshua Nesbitt ran for 1,037 yards in 2009.

Florida State: Florida State QB Jameis Winston has led the Seminoles to a 25-0 record as their starting quarterback since 2013, missing only the Seminoles' overtime win this year against Clemson because of a suspension. He has struggled early in games with turnovers but always seems to rally his team.
