Fresno State outlasts Cal State Bakersfield 63-61

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) Marvelle Harris finished with 29 points and hit a pair of go-ahead free throws with 17.5 seconds left to lift Fresno State over Cal State Bakersfield 63-61 on Saturday night.

Julien Lewis scored 11 points and Emmanuel Owootoah added eight for Fresno State (3-6). Harris was 8 of 14 from the field and a perfect 10 of 10 from the line. Harris also had six rebounds and five assists.

Dashawn Richmond led the Roadrunners (1-7) with 20 points, Aly Ahmed had 15.

Fresno State was trailing late when Terrell Carter II scored on a layup to tie it with 34 seconds left. A technical foul was assessed on CS Bakersfield for calling an extra time out, sending Harris to the line for the go-ahead points. Carter blocked Ahmed's jumper on the next possession, was fouled and missed both free throws, but Richmond couldn't sink a 3-pointer in the final seconds.
