Mount St. Mary's gets by Loyola Maryland 74-65

BALTIMORE (AP) Byron Ashe nailed 4 of 5 from long range to score 16 points as Mount St. Mary's slipped past Loyola Maryland 74-65 on Saturday night.

Kristijan Krajina was 6 of 10 from the floor for 12 points and Gregory Graves added 10 for Mount St. Mary's (2-4).

The Mountaineers held a slim 35-30 halftime advantage. The Greyhounds chipped away and trailed only 57-55 with 7:33 left when Franz Rassman nailed a 3. The Mountaineers answered with a 10-2 run for a 67-57 lead.

Loyola closed to 67-60 with 3:01 remaining when Tyler Hubbard made two free throws and Andrew Walker added another. The Mountaineers answered when Graves threw down a dunk and Chris Martin made a layup to pull ahead 71-60.

The Mountaineers made 51.9 percent from the floor while holding Loyola to 22-of-52 shooting.

Eric Laster and Hubbard had 14 apiece for Loyola (3-5).
