Sam Houston runs past Texas-Pan American 78-59

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) DeMarcus Gatlin and Dakarai Henderson combined for 29 points to lead Sam Houston State to a 78-59 victory over Texas-Pan American on Saturday night.

Gatlin made 5 of 7 field goal attempts and was 4 of 5 from the line for 15 points. Henderson came off the bench to score 14, and Kaheem Ransom and Michael Holyfield added 12 apiece for Sam Houston (5-3).

The Bearkats, leading 34-31 at the break, opened the second half with a 7-0 run to break out to a 41-31 advantage. They had a 25-12 run midway through the second period and coasted to the win.

Sam Houston also won the rebound battle 45 to 30.

Janari Joesaar had 17 points and Everett Osborne added a career-high 13 to lead the Broncs (4-4). Dan Kimasa had his first career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
