Air Force to face W. Michigan in Potato Bowl

BOISE, Idaho (AP) Air Force of the Mountain West Conference will face Western Michigan of the Mid-American Conference in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

The matchup was announced on Sunday.

Air Force (9-3, 5-3 MWC) finished with five wins in its final six games. The Falcons were unbeaten in non-conference play and feature one of the top running attacks in the country averaging nearly 275 yards per game on the ground. The Falcons were the only Mountain West team to beat league champion Boise State.

Western Michigan (8-4, 6-2 MAC) finished third in the West Division of the MAC one game behind Northern Illinois and Toledo. The Broncos averaged nearly 35 points per game and feature one of the top young running backs in the country in freshman Jarvion Franklin. Franklin rushed for 1,525 yards and 24 touchdowns, the second-most of any freshman in the country.
