St. John's forward Chris Obekpa had a resounding two-handed block of Syracuse guard Michael Gbinije in the Red Storm's win on Saturday.

St. John's won 69-57. Obekpa finished with five points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. Gbinije scored 13 points and added five rebounds and five assists.

Obekpa entered Saturday fifth in the country with 3.83 blocks per game. He's also doing so while wearing some one-of-a-kind short shorts.

St. John's University center Chris Obekpa is 6-foot-10, which means his decision to roll with short shorts this season is leaving a lot of leg exposed.

The Nigerian junior has taken to rolling up his uniform into his compression shorts this season because he feels it is less restrictive on his long legs.

St. John's next plays Wednesday vs. Fairleigh Dickinson. Syracuse plays Louisiana Tech Dec. 14.

The Red Storm are 6-1, fourth among Big East teams. The Orange are 5-3, ninth among ACC teams in non-conference play.
