Former Nebraska coach Bo Pelini has denied being offered or accepting the Youngstown State job, he told SI's Thayer Evans

"It's all a complete fabrication of the truth," Pelini said.

Brett McMurphy of ESPN reported earlier on Tuesday that Pelini is considering taking the job at Youngstown State.

Nebraska fired Pelini on Nov. 30, one day after the Cornhuskers regular season ended.

Pelini was in his seventh season as the Cornhuskers coach. Nebraska went 9-3 in the 2014 regular season and recorded at least nine wins in each season with Pelini at the helm. They've since hired Oregon State coach Mike Riley.

Pelini compiled a 67-27 career record at Nebraska. He previously served as an NFL positional coach and the defensive coordinator at Nebraska, Oklahoma and LSU

On Nov. 25, Youngstown State announced that head coach Eric Wolford would not return for the 2015 season. The Penguins went 7-5 in 2014 with a 4-4 record in the Missouri Valley Conference.
