Valparaiso streaks past Trinity International, 79-54

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) Tevonn Walker came off the Valparaiso bench to score 15 points and spark the Crusaders to a 79-54 win over NAIA Trinity International Wednesday night.

Walker scored seven points in the final seven minutes of the first half to fuel a 16-5 run to send Valparaiso (9-2) into the locker room with a 42-24 lead.

Trinity led early, but after David Chatman knocked down a jumper to give the Trojans a 13-10 lead, Valparaiso went on an 8-0 run to take the lead and pushed it to a 12-2 run for a 20-15 advantage.

Keith Carter added 12 points of the Crusaders, with David Skara and Vashil Fernandez contributing 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Trinity (1-10) struggled from the field, hitting just 17 of 59 shots (28.8 percent) and knocked down 8 of 29 from distance. Chatman was the lone player to reach double figure scoring with 10 points.
