Illinois-Chicago rallies to beat UCF 71-60

CHICAGO (AP) Jay Harris scored a career-high 32 points to lead the University of Illinois-Chicago to a 71-60 comeback win over the University of CentralFlorida on Thursday night.

The Flames led 12-3 on a 3-pointer by Harris, but UCF rallied and pulled ahead 27-25 on a free throw by Brandon Goodwin and led 30-27 at halftime.

UIC opened the second half with an 11-3 run to retake the lead 36-33 then stayed ahead by two baskets for much of the half. B.J. Taylor hit a 3-pointer to pull UCF to within two, 44-42, at 10:58, but the Flames replied with treys by Harris and D'Juan Miller and pulled away. Harris scored 17 in the half.

Jake Weigand scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Jason McClellan had seven rebounds, and Miller had five assists for the Flames (3-7), who out-rebounded the Knights 38-31.

Taylor led UCF (5-3) with 13 points.
