Mount Saint Mary's beats Norfolk St. 67-64 in OT

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) Byron Ashe hit a pair of key 3-pointers in overtime and Kristijan Krajina blocked a potential tying shot at the buzzer, rallying Mount Saint Mary's to a 67-64 win over Norfolk State on Saturday.

The Mountaineers (3-5) had enjoyed a 10-point lead much of the game, only to see it evaporate in a long cold stretch where they were outscored 14-1 and Norfolk State (6-5) came back to tie. The Spartans' Rashid Gaston missed from a tough angle to the right of the rim as time expired in regulation.

Norfolk State scored the first five points in overtime, while Mount Saint Mary's missed four shots, including three 3-pointers by Will Miller.

The Mountaineers were trailing 62-57 when Ashe hit his two long shots for the lead. Junior Robinson added 14 points and five assists.

D'Shon Taylor scored 23 for Norfolk State, Jeffrey Short 15 and Gaston scored nine points with 12 rebounds.
