Northern Kentucky beats Cincinnati-Clermont 107-53

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) Deonte Cole scored 15 points in 17 minutes on Sunday and Northern Kentucky rolled easily past Cincinnati-Clermont 107-53.

Cole had two 3-pointers early as Northern Kentucky (4-5) jumped to 19-5 lead in the opening minutes. The Norse led 49-29 at halftime and never trailed.

Tyler White added 13 points, and Anthony Monaco, Dean Danos and Tayler Persons each scored 11 for NKU. The Norse were 16 of 31 from 3-point range with Cole 5 of 7, Monaco 3 of 4 and Danos 3 of 6.

In addition to outscoring Cincinnati-Clermont more than two-to-one, Northern Kentucky also had a 58-29 advantage on the boards.

Phil Cook had 10 points and Curt Wesp had 12 rebounds to lead Clermont, but the Cougars struggled from the field with only 27.9 percent shooting and 5 of 34 from 3-point range.
