Highly-regarded high school quarterback Jarrett Stidham has decommitted from Texas Tech, the Stephenville, Texas native announced on Saturday.

Stidham, who is ranked the No. 4 quarterback in the class of 2015 by Rivals.com, tweeted his decision.

Stidham did not list any specific reasons for his decision, only thanking the university for the opportunity.

The quarterback received offers from a number of upper echelon college football programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State and Oregon. Several of Texas Tech's in-state rivals -- Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor and TCU -- also offered Stidham, whom Rivals considers the No. 57 player overall in the class of 2015.

Stidham had signed a financial agreement with Texas Tech in August and planned on enrolling early at the school

The Red Raiders finished 4-8 this season, the first time the team had failed to finish with at least five wins since 1990.
