Four-star running back Cameron Scarlett committed to Stanford on Monday, according to Mike Farrell of Rivals.

A native of Portland, Oregon, Scarlett had also been considering UCLA and Washington and held offers from a host of other Division I schools.

Rivals has Scarlett ranked No. 100 nationally in the class of 2015, fifth in the nation among running backs and the top prospect in Oregon.

Scarlett helped Central Catholic to back-to-back Oregon 6A state titles before tearing his ACL in the state quarterfinals. He is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday and hopes to be ready to go for the start of preseason camp at the end of the summer, he told The Oregonian.

"I just felt like this is the place where I was meant to be," Scarlett said. "I've been really fond of the program since I was young, seeing brother was recruited by them. I get a lot of love from the coaching staff, which is huge for me. They showed me they were serious about me."

Scarlett is the 12th commitment to Stanford's 2015 class and the fourth four-star.
