Miami Hurricanes vs. South Carolina Gamecocks

The Miami Hurricanes (6-6) and South Carolina Gamecocks (6-6) meet in the Independence Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 27 in Shreveport, La. After opening the season 6-3, Miami has lost its last three games, including a loss to Pittsburgh to end the regular season. South Carolina lost to Clemson in its last regular season game and has lost three of its last five games.

11/29: Pittsburgh 35, Miami 23

The Hurricanes continued their season-ending slide by losing to the Panthers for their third straight loss. Miami allowed Pitt to rush for 226 yards and four touchdowns, led by James Conner's 75-yard, two-touchdown performance. Miami's Brad Kaaya completed 22 of 45 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns, and Phillip Dorsett caught five passes for 103 yards and a score. The Hurricanes lost despite outgaining the Panthers 421-360.

11/22:Virginia 30, Miami 13

Miami took a 7-0 lead before giving up 30 straight points in a loss to Virginia. Brad Kaaya threw for 263 yards, one touchdown and an interception, and Clive Walford had seven catches for 105 yards. Duke Johnson rushed for 88 yards on 15 carries, but lost a fumble in the first quarter. Miami lost the time of possession battle by nearly 12 minutes.

11/15:Florida State 30, Miami 26

The Hurricanes took a 26-20 lead in the fourth quarter on Michael Badgley's 46-yard field goal, but they couldn't hold on as the Seminoles scored the game's last 10 points to escape with a victory. Brad Kaaya completed 16 of 34 passes for 316 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, and Clive Walford caught four balls for 127 yards and a score. Hurricanes running back Duke Johnson rushed 27 times for 130 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Kaaya's interception with under a minute left sealed the Miami's fate.

South Carolina

11/29: Clemson 35, South Carolina 17

South Carolina had its two-game win streak snapped by Clemson in its regular season finale. The Gamecocks gave up 491 yards of total offense, including 191 rushing yards to Wayne Gallman and 185 receiving yards to Artavis Scott. South Carolina's Dylan Thompson completed 21 of 39 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown, but the Gamecocks managed just 63 rushing yards on 33 carries.

11/22: South Carolina 37, South Alabama 12

The Gamecocks piled up 454 yards of offense to knock off South Alabama. Dylan Thompson completed 10 of 17 passes for 237 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the victory. Pharoh Cooper led South Carolina with 95 receiving yards, while Brandon Wilds rushed for 77 yards. Skai Moore and Brison Williams each had two interceptions for South Carolina.

11/15: South Carolina 23, Florida 20

South Carolina beat Florida on Dylan Thompson's four-yard touchdown run in overtime after the Gators kicked a field goal. South Carolina blocked a punt with less than a minute left before Mike Davis recovered a fumble in the end zone to force overtime. Dylan Thompson completed 22 of 41 passes for 206 yards in the win. South Carolina giained 301 yards compared to Florida's 278.
