Thompson leads George Mason over Catawba 99-69

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) Shevon Thompson scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and George Mason rolled over Catawba 99-69 on Wednesday night.

Thompson made 13 of 15 shots in collecting his third double-double of the season and led six Patriots in double figures. Isaiah Jackson had 14 points, Marko Gujanicic 12, Marquise Moore and Trey Porter 11 each and Patrick Holloway 10 for George Mason (3-6).

The Patriots made 42 of 63 shots for 66.7 percent and half of their 3-point attempts. Though they only outrebounded Catawba by one, the Patriots made the most of their shots inside, outscoring the Indians 70-44 in the paint.

KJ Arrington led the Division II Indians with 17 points. Rakeen Brown added 16 and Vismantas Marijosius 10.

George Mason led the whole game and was up 45-37 at halftime.
