St. Francis outlasts Florida Atlantic 61-56

NEW YORK (AP) Jalen Cannon had 17 points with 10 rebounds and hit a key 3-pointer with 28 seconds left as St. Francis outlasted Florida Atlantic 61-56 on Saturday.

The Terriers (4-7) were trailing 42-41 in the second half, but reeled off a 15-3 run to lead by 11 with 2:47 remaining. Chris Hooper hit a layup and converted a three-point play, and Brent Jones made a pair of layups to spark the run.

FAU (5-4) wasn't done yet as Marquan Botley nailed a 3-pointer and a layup, and Solomon Poole later followed with a trey to make it 56-53 with 53 seconds left. Cannon answered with St. Francis' lone 3-pointer of the game.

Poole countered with another 3, but Jones hit two free throws to seal the win. Jones had 14 points, while Hooper added nine with 10 boards.

Botley led the Owls with 12 points and Poole had 10.
