New Mexico holds on to beat New Mexico State 69-67

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) Deshawn Delaney scored 15 points and New Mexico held on to beat New Mexico State 69-67 on Saturday night.

The Lobos opened the second half on a 22-13 run to stretch its lead to 52-33 with 11:23 remaining.

The Aggies chipped away, forcing seven turnovers during a 21-8 run, capped by Pascal Siakam's right-handed reverse dunk, to pull within 60-54 with 2:04 to play.

Tim Jacobs scored, Obij Aget blocked Travon Landry's layup attempt, and Delaney drained a 3 to push the Lobo lead to 65-54 with 50 seconds left.

Ian Baker hit two treys, and Remi Barry scored to get the Aggies within 66-62 with 14 seconds left before the Lobos (8-3) made three of four free throws to ice it.

Baker finished with 21 points, and hit a 28-foot trey at the buzzer to cap the scoring for the Aggies (4-8).
