Report: David Shaw plans to remain coach of Stanford
Despite being considered one of the top NFL coaching candidates currently at the college level, David Shaw plans to remain at Stanford, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
According to Schefter, Shaw is "highly regarded" in NFL circles and is among the most coveted coaches in the country due to his credentials.
Shaw has served as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens, leaving the NFL in 2006 to become the passing game coordinator for Jim Harbaugh at the University of San Diego.

He took over as Stanford's head coach in 2011 and has amassed a 41-12 record in four seasons. The Cardinal's worst record under him came this year, when Stanford went 7-5 in the regular season.
Over the summer, Shaw said that he has already "lived the NFL life" and does not answer NFL calls.
The Cardinal play Maryland on Dec. 30 in the Foster Farms Bowl.
