Michigan unveils new throwback uniforms honoring 1989 title team

Michigan revealed new throwback uniforms on Monday that pay homage to the school's 1989 national championship team.
The uniforms feature the outsized block "M" that make Michigan's uniforms from that era distinct. The team will wear the uniforms for its Jan. 10 game against Minnesota.

The 1989 title is Michigan's most recent national championship, though the team made it back to the finals of the NCAA tournament in 2013.
The 1988-89 Wolverines finished the season 30-7 and punctuated their tournament run with a dramatic 80-79 win over Seton Hall in overtime in the final game.

The current Wolverines have to hope the 1989-inspired uniforms rub off on them, as they've struggled so far this season. Michigan entered Monday's game against Coppin State on a four-game losing streak, which includes defeats to NJIT and Eastern Michigan.
