Ball State holds off Longwood 69-64

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) Sean Sellers scored 15 points, Matt Kamieniecki added 11 and Ball State held on to beat Longwood 69-64 on Sunday.

Francis Kiapway hit a 3-pointer to give Ball State (4-6) a 57-47 lead with 3:55 remaining, but Longwood (4-9) used an 8-0 run to pull within two. Sellers responded with a four-point play and Kamieniecki converted a three-point play. Darrion Allen followed with a 3-pointer for Longwood.

Kamieniecki split a pair of free throws to make it 65-62 with 31 seconds left, then blocked Quincy Taylor's layup attempt on the ensuing possession. Sellers nailed two free throws to ice it.

The Cardinals hit 10 3-pointers and only sent Longwood to the free-throw line eight times. Kiapway finished with 11 points and Franko House had eight with nine rebounds. Sellers was 4 of 4 from deep.

Taylor led the Lancers with 20 points and Shaquille Johnson chipped in 18.
