Western Michigan downs New Hampshire 70-56

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) Connar Tava scored 15 points, David Brown added 14, and Western Michigan beat New Hampshire 70-56 on Tuesday night.

Drake LaMont scored 11 and Tucker Haymond 10 for the Broncos (8-4), who won the rebounding battle 33-32 and converted 19 Wildcats personal fouls into 21 of 26 free throws (80.8 percent.)

Iba Camara hit a jumper and New Hampshire led 6-5, then Western Michigan took control. LaMont hit a pair of free throws to spark a 10-3 run, then the Broncos ripped a 12-4 run to lead 39-32 at halftime.

New Hampshire's Tanner Leissner hit two free throws to pull within six, 46-40, in the second half, but the Broncos pulled away. Thomas Wilder's layup sparked a 9-1 run and the Broncos led 66-48 lead with four minutes to go.

Leissner led New Hampshire (6-6) with 12 and Jaleen Smith and Matt Miller each scored eight.
