CSU Bakersfield over La Verne 87-36

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) Dashawn Richmond scored 22 points off the bench, leading CSU Bakersfield to an 87-36 win over Division III La Verne on Wednesday.

Richmond did it with 8-of-11 shooting from the field for the Roadrunners (4-10). Abdul Ahmed added 13 points, Aly Ahmed had 11 and Jaylin Airington had nine. The team hit 54.4 percent from the field and 72.7 percent from the line.

CSU Bakersfield sprinted to a 25-5 lead early in the first period and led 43-14 at the break. The Roadrunners opened the second half with a 13-4 run to a 56-18 advantage with 16:45 to play and cruised to the win.

Jordan Stokes had seven points and three rebounds for the Leopards. La Verne struggled from the field with 25 percent shooting overall and had 24 turnovers during the contest.
