North Carolina A&T beats Cal St. Bakersfield 83-70

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Arturs Bremers scored 18 points, Ahmad Abdullah added 17 with five assists and North Carolina A&T defeated Cal State Bakersfield 83-70 on Saturday night.

Bremers was nearly perfect from the field, going 4 of 4 from 3-point range, 4 of 5 overall and 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Bruce Beckford chipped in 13 points while Bryan Akinkugbe and James Whitaker had nine apiece for the Aggies (3-13).

NC A&T shot 47.6 percent and was 35 of 39 on free throws.

Dashawn Richmond finished with 21 points for the Roadrunners (4-11), who were held to 18-of-50 shooting (36 percent), committed 34 fouls and had three players foul out. Richmond and Javonte Maynor each hit three of CS Bakersfield's nine 3-pointers.

Bremers hit a 3-pointer during a 15-5 surge that pushed the Aggies' lead to 64-54 with 4:21 remaining. NC A&T sank 21 of its last 22 free throws.
