Monmouth coasts to 66-50 win over Niagara

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) Justin Robinson scored 14 points, including all eight of his shots from the free throw line, to help Monmouth remain unbeaten in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games this season with a 66-50 win over Niagara on Sunday.

Collin Stewart added 12 points and Deon Jones had eight points while also grabbing seven rebounds for Monmouth (7-7, 4-0), which shot 48 percent from the floor to win its third straight over Niagara (3-9, 2-2).

A pair of free throws from Robinson gave Monmouth the lead for good late in the first half and sparked an 11-0 run stretching across both sides of the intermission to make it 33-23 with 18:26 to play.

Niagara pulled to within 45-40 on Wesley Myers' layup with 9:03 left but the Hawks responded with a 7-0 burst and continued to pull away down the stretch.

Dominique Reid led Niagara with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
