Murray leads Presbyterian over Liberty 62-58

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) DeSean Murray, playing for the first time since being injured in Presbyterian's second game of the season, scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Blue Hose to a 62-58 victory over Liberty on Saturday night.

Jordan Downing added 14 points and William Truss 10 for the Blue Hose (5-10, 1-1 Big South), who snapped a four-game losing streak and won their first game versus a Division I opponent this season.

Murray scored 12 points in the first half when Presbyterian took a 31-24 lead. The Blue Hose led by as many 14 in the second half but an 8-0 run got the Flames within 56-55 with 1:44 remaining. However, a dunk by Truss and two layups by Markus Terry while the Flames were missing three shots preserved the win.

Joe Retic scored 14 points for Liberty (6-9, 0-2) with Ethan Layer adding 12 and Theo Johnson 10.
