Fairleigh Dickinson holds off LIU-Brooklyn 75-69

NEW YORK (AP) Darian Anderson scored a career-high 26 points on 10-for-12 shooting to help Fairleigh Dickinson hold off a late surge by LIU-Brooklyn in a 75-69 win Monday night.

Fairleigh Dickinson (7-6, 2-0 Northeast Conference) led most of the game but gave up a 10-point lead midway through the second half when the Blackbirds (4-9, 0-2) stormed back with a 15-2 run to take a 65-62 lead on Gerrell Martin's 3-pointer with 4:24 to go. But the Knights responded with five straight points, including back-to-back buckets from Marques Townes, to regain the lead and padded it down the stretch to clinch the win.

Mustafaa Jones contributed 19 points, including three 3-pointers, for Fairleigh Dickinson, which shot 49 percent from the floor to win its third straight game.

Martin led LIU-Brooklyn with 23 points, including three from long range, and Joel Hernandez added 15 points.
