James Madison tops Charleston 61-50

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Ron Curry scored 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting to lead James Madison over College of Charleston 61-50 on Monday.

Donovan Gilmore led Charleston with 12 points and Anthony Stitt scored 10.

Charleston (5-10, 0-2 Colonial Athletic) had a 15-1 run midway through the first half to go up eight, but JMU responded with Curry's 3-pointer and scored the last seven points of the frame to trail by one at the break.

James Madison (9-6, 2-0) took control after intermission, scoring the first eight points as Charleston went 7:47 with just one bucket. A 10-2 spurt by the Dukes a few moments later put JMU up by 12 and they hit 9 of 12 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
