South Alabama beats Arkansas-Little Rock 72-69

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) Georgi Boyanov had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Dionte Ferguson scored 25 - all career highs - as South Alabama beat Arkansas-Little Rock 72-69 on Monday night.

Taishaun Johnson made 1 of 2 free throws to give South Alabama a 66-62 lead with 1:57 left and Ferguson scored six points down the stretch to keep the Jaguars in front.

South Alabama (3-10, 1-2 Sun Belt Conference) took the lead for good on one of Ferguson's jumpers during a 7-0 run that ended with the Jaguars up 57-52 with 8:19 left.

UALR (5-8, 0-3) stayed within five the rest of the way, closing to 70-69 with 3.8 seconds left when Josh Hagins hit 3 of 3 free throws. After Ferguson made both of his free throws with 2.5 seconds left, Hagins missed a half-court heave at the buzzer.

Roger Woods led the Trojans with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Ben Dillard scored 13 and Hagins had 10.
