QB Vincent Testaverde Jr. transferring to Miami

Former Texas Tech quarterback Vincent Testaverde Jr. is transferring to Miami, his father, former NFL quarterback Vinny Testaverde, told the Associated Press.

Former Texas Tech quarterback Vincent Testaverde Jr. is transferring to Miami, his father, former NFL quarterback Vinny Testaverde, told the Associated Press.

Testaverde was a walk-on with the Red Raiders and played in one game his freshman year, completing thee of his first four passes and leading a touchdown drive.

Vinny Testaverde played for Miami from 1983 to 1986. In his senior year, he won the Heisman Trophy and was named a consensus first-team All-American.

The younger Testaverde announced he was transferring in late December. Since he was not on scholarship, he can play immediately at Miami. 

The Hurricanes went 6-7 in 2014, losing to South Carolina in the Independence Bowl.
