Hartford recovers to beat Binghamton 69-59

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Mark Nwakamma scored 18 points and finished with 12 rebounds as Hartford recovered from a slow start to beat Binghamton 69-59 on Wednesday night.

Binghamton jumped out to a 9-1 lead as the Hawks didn't score a field goal until 5:27 into the first half. Hartford slowly chipped away at the deficit, leading for the first time with 2:57 left before the break, and closing out the first half on a 7-0 run to go up by four points.

Hartford's Corban Wroe shot a perfect 4-of-4 for 10 points in the first half, and finished with 18.

Romello Walker scored six-straight Bearcats points to put them up by one with 12:24 left. Hartford (8-7, 1-1 America East) answered with back-to-back 3's, leading the rest of the way.

Walker led the Bearcats with 17 points. Binghamton (1-16, 0-2) shot 54.5 percent from the floor, but 3 of 13 from 3-point range.
