2 ex-players to testify against others in Vandy rape case

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Prosecutors say two former Vanderbilt football players charged with rape will testify against two former teammates who are set to be tried next week.

All four of the school's former players are accused of raping an unconscious woman at the Nashville school in June 2013.

Brandon Vandenburg and Cory Batey are scheduled to go to trial next week. Both are charged with five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. Vandenburg also faces additional charges of tampering with evidence and unlawful photography.

Prosecutors said at a pre-trial hearing on Friday that they had not cut a deal with Brandon Banks and Jaborian ''Tip'' McKenzie for their testimony.

All of the former players have pleaded not guilty. The trial of Vandenburg and Batey is expected to last about two weeks.
